Receptionist/Administrative Assistant Newport News Office - Full Time
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant for their Newport News office to serve as Full-Time Office Manager and Administrative Support to the Department of Health and Community Services. The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include greeting clients and visitors, collecting payments for services, preparing weekly accounts receivable spreadsheets, answering incoming calls/faxes and routing to appropriate staff, keeping abreast of agency and community resources, and referring clients to additional resources and services, preparing weekly deposits, ordering office supplies, and keeping the office organized. As Administrative Assistant the candidate will assist the Community Service and Financial Housing Director with reports, aide in companion care and respite care administrative work, scan paperwork to appropriate departments, run reports, manage the Phone System, aide the program staff as needed, attend departmental and agency staff meetings, and participate in agency performance and quality improvement processes. This position is a full-time position located at our Newport News Office (12829 Jefferson Ave) and reports directly to the Director of Health and Community Services Department. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
The qualified candidate must possess three or more years of related office experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access and Word). The candidate shall also have a professional and friendly demeanor, be team oriented as well as a self-starter.
