Companion Care

CCEVA’s Companion Care Program provides companionship to clients in order for them to stay socially engaged and to provide assistance with their daily activities in order to remain in their home comfortably and safely. This position is NO HANDS ON CARE NEEDED, Non-medical, non-personal care, in-home support services such as: home management (light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and trash removal), meal planning and preparation, running errands for client, transporting clients to run errands and shopping, as well as providing medication reminders are some of the duties that may be required. Qualifications are: Have two or more years of recent experience in caring for the elderly. Be dependable, people-oriented, pay attention to detail, and are able to work independently are a must. Also required is an insured vehicle and a valid Virginia driver’s license in good standing, as well as having your own vehicle. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required and must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate written instructions, have a working telephone with voicemail. For this position you must have a negative TB test, a negative drug screening as well having an extensive background criminal and social services check conducted. For this position a negative drug test and extensive background check will be required. Physical requirements of the job: ability to bend over, ability to stand for extended periods of time, lift 10 lbs, push a vacuum, climb stairs Extensive training provided – There will be an extended training period that will equal 8 hours during initial onboarding and it’s paid and mandatory.
