School Assistance Program Counselor (11 hours per week – Portsmouth Catholic)
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia is seeking a part-time School Assistance Program Counselor for Portsmouth Catholic. The qualified candidate will have completed a master’s degree program from a CACREP University and/or will have completed all coursework in a master’s degree program and will be in their capstone of internship on target to complete their master’s degree program from CACREP University/ and or will have completed a bachelor’s degree program from a CACREP University.
School Assistance Program Counselor will collaborate with other School Assistance Program Counselors as well as principals, teachers and parents as needed. The position will provide Brief Solution Focused Therapy to all participating students at the school they are contracted. School Assistance Program Counselor will complete all necessary paperwork including progress notes, report to social services, monthly statistical forms and seek out extra training. In this role you will adhere to agency and departmental program policies and procedures and respond to agency needs in line with abilities, professional interest and changing community needs while maintaining a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
