Job Description

Grounded in faith, CCEVA (a 501 c 3) serves all, providing professional services and inspiring hope with programs that include youth & family services, financial & housing counseling, mental health counseling, health & community services and senior services covering a region spanning the Eastern Shore, South Hampton Roads, the Peninsula and the Northern Neck. The ideal candidate is a creative, passionate individual with an interest in our mission and the desire to gain experience in non-profit development and fundraising, marketing, logistics, social media, community relations, grant writing support, social work, web and social media analytics, donor engagement and other related areas. Interns are provided an opportunity to gain important job skills to be successful in a non-profit environment while making a difference in the lives of people in need.

• Capacity for critical thinking and problem solving
• Knowledge of social media platforms and trends
• Familiarity with digital marketing tools and analytics
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Excellent organizational skills and time management, meets deadlines
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, Canva
• Reliable transportation, valid drivers license
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Occasional lifting, carrying, 20 lbs.
• Travel to other office locations

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
• Report to Director of Development and work with the Marketing Coordinator
• Assist with charity golf tournament, May 3rd (if available) and/or post event duties
• Enter and track donation data, organize and correct data, follow up on email statuses
• Build database reports, especially to reconnect with lapsed donors
• Track and analyze web and social media trends, new web analytics
• Assist with ACK letter process
• Participate in staff, management and Dev Comm meetings
• Research and report Google Analytics
• Participate in grant research and completion with guidance
• Recruit and help manage volunteers
• Participate in Board of Director, staff, committee meetings
• Research company/organization information for prospects
• Attend program events where appropriate (classes, seminars, shows, etc.)
• Create marketing materials of programs for event use
• Create social media, website and video clip posts
• Assist with volunteer recruitment and management 
• Assist keeping inventory and spaces organized, marketing materials ordered and stocked/distributed
• Other duties as assigned
