Post Adoption Services

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia (CCEVA) is committed to providing quality post adoption services to families. In 2020, the Virginia Department of Social Services created a new initiative for post adoption services throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Catholic Charities is proud to be a partner agency of United Methodist Family Services (UMFS). CCEVA’s post adoption programs continue to provide basic, enhanced, and crisis post adoption services to the families that they serve. All post adoption services are generously funded by the Virginia Department of Social Services (FAM-20-082) which allows us to provide all services and programs free of charge.

CCEVA’s post adoption programs provide monthly support groups (childcare and dinner provided), teen monthly support groups, ongoing trainings, family game nights, respite (day event), case management, school advocacy, referrals to resources, end of the year cook-out and other tools and materials to help families maintain successful adoptive placements. Families must have a finalized adoption (foster care, international, private, domestic infant, and/or kinship) to receive services.
