Post Adoption Services

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia (CCEVA) is committed to providing quality post adoption services to families. In 2020, the Virginia Department of Social Services created a new initiative for post adoption services throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Catholic Charities is proud to be a partner agency of United Methodist Family Services (UMFS). CCEVA’s post adoption programs continue to provide basic, enhanced, and crisis post adoption services to the families that they serve. All post adoption services are generously funded by the Virginia Department of Social Services (FAM-20-082) which allows us to provide all services and programs free of charge.

Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia’s Post Adoption services utilizes the evidence-based Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) approach developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross. The goal of CCEVA’s programs are to provide education, case management, events, support, tools, and materials to help families maintain successful adoptive placements. Families must have a finalized adoption (foster care, international, private, domestic infant, and/or kinship) in order to receive services.
