Pregnancy and Parent Support

CCEVA is here to support you in your vital role as parent. We have Care Centers on the southside and peninsula which offer free diapers and baby supplies to families in need. Case management services are also provided to help pregnant women and new parents make a safe parenting plan, and to discuss and address all of the family’s needs. Families also receive help in connecting to other available community resources addressing needs such as: housing, employment, insurance, and education. Our staff will follow families for a year to ensure that they are in the best position possible to raise healthy, happy children.

Please call (757) 456-2366 on the southside, or (757) 875-0060 on the peninsula for help from our Care Center.

Post Adoption Services

Catholic Charities provides a wide spectrum of post adoption services for families. This program utilizes the evidence-based Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) approach developed by Dr. Karen Purvis and Dr. David Cross. The goal of the program is to provide case management, educate, support, and provide tools and materials to help families maintain successful adoptive placements, especially for families who have adopted children from difficult backgrounds. All post adoption services are FREE due to generous funding by the Virginia Department of Social Services (FAM-20-820).

Grandparents as Parents

We have support groups designed specifically to provide help, advice, and support and to lend a listening ear to family members who are raising their grandchildren or the children of other relatives. Together, we address the unique issues and questions, needs and obstacles of parenting a relative’s child. Our groups provide a place to openly express your feelings, gain a positive focus, receive emotional support, and share information on community resources and social activities. We invite you to join us to explore the joys and challenges of raising the children of relatives.

Currently, we offer support groups in the city of Norfolk.

Please call (757) 456-2366 for more information.
