Our staff consists of Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Eligible Resident Counselors, and Interns.

Catholic Charities does not currently take payments from health insurers. Often, our fee is equal to or lower than insurance co-payments. For those who qualify for financial assistance, a sliding fee scale is offered.

Meet Our Counselors

Kelle Watson M.A. LPC
Director of Mental HealthKelle received her Masters of Arts summa cum laude from Rivier college. She was nominated and chosen three times to represent Rivier college in the National Dean’s List which recognizes outstanding academic achievement in students nation wide. She has been in the field of counseling since 2005. Her internship involved working with individuals with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and group work.
Her residency involved working with the homeless at both Judeo Christian Outreach Center and People in Need, the chronically ill with co-occuring mental health issues at Chesapeake Fee Care Clinic, and working with varied and diverse populations, cultures and diagnoses in an outpatient setting at Catholic Charities Virginia Beach and Norfolk offices. Her residency also involved being contracted as a school counselor for three years at Portsmouth Catholic Elementary School and Bishop Sullivan High School. Prior to becoming a Licensed professional counselor, Kelle was a preschool teacher, a youth group leader for middle school children, and a Respite Director for adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
Kelle specializes in counseling children and adolescents with related issues of ADHD, ODD, and Conduct Disorder. She also specializes in working with individuals with Depression, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, Bereavement, Adjustment Disorders, Domestic Violence Issues, Self esteem issues, Relationship Issues, and Individual co parenting therapy.

Win Kent, M.S. Ed.
Resident CounselorWin received his B.A. of Psychology from Christopher Newport University in 2018, magna cum laude. He is now working towards his Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University and is a member of the counseling honor society, Chi Sigma Iota. Win began his journey into this field fueled by a passion to work with others and help them achieve a better quality of life and well-being.
Win’s professional and educational experience has included working with anxiety, adolescents of varying backgrounds in day treatment (counseling in a school setting), and couples counseling. He is also a member of the American Counseling Association. Additionally, Win conducted undergrad research in exploring personality traits in relation to grief processing as well as other research questions that pertained to mental health and was able to present at various local and national level conferences. Win brings his passion, insight, and empathy into session by facilitating the journey of self-growth and discovery. Win’s counseling techniques include Person-Centered, Gestalt, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and a holistic view of wellness.

Sonyalee Reeves-Adams M.A.
Resident CounselorSonyalee earned her B.S. in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 2006. She earned her Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling with a concentration in K-12 from Argosy University in 2008.
She is currently in the process of earning her licensure to be a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Regent University. She is a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, which specializes in pre-marital and married couples enrichment.

Baylea Grimes, M.A.
Counseling ResidentBaylea obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, summa cum laude, from Welch College in 2019. She is currently working toward a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University.
Since 2018, Baylea has had the opportunity to work with many populations as they navigated trauma, anxiety, depression, special needs, and abuse throughout her work and educational experiences. Some of Baylea’s counseling techniques include person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and holistic care. She brings her warmth, empathy, integrity, genuine acceptance, and desire to help others into the counseling relationship. Baylea is excited to help her clients discover their potential for happier, healthier, and more successful lives!

Jozelyn Willis, M.S. Ed.
Resident CounselorJozelyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 2017. She is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Counseling Education with a Clinical Mental Health focus at Old Dominion University. Jozelyn has experience with helping others transition and/or adjust to different stages in their lives (i.e, high school to college). She also has worked with individuals with anxiety. Because of her Military upbringing, Jozelyn has lived in several states particularly in the southeast as well as different parts of Japan. She loves learning about different cultures and respects the customs that others maintain. In part of the Military lifestyle, she has an understanding of deployment and the ongoing of relocations and the adaptations that occur.
Jozelyn additionally has secretarial experience in a campus ministry during her time at Virginia Tech. In her role there she oversaw and participated in various volunteer opportunities such as Food Pantries {i.e.-Micah’s Backpack), volunteering in local school classrooms, and other miscellaneous serving roles on as needed bases. She takes Virginia Tech’s motto to heart, ‘Ut Prosim’ -That I may serve.

Brittany Peeples, Ed.S.
Counseling ResidentBrittany Peeples, Ed.S., is a Counseling Resident with Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia. She graduated from Old Dominion University in 2019 with an Educational Specialist Certificate in Mental Health Counseling, Norfolk State University in 2008 with a Masters of Arts in Urban Education degree in Community Counseling, and Virginia Tech in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Currently, she is completing licensure hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. She has nearly 15 years experience working with at-risk youth and parents in educational settings. Brittany is passionate about addressing the stigma surrounding mental health conditions in minority communities and ensuring quality mental healthcare for all. She believes awareness and advocacy are the best ways to combat this stigma.

Raven Jackson, B.A.
Counseling InternRaven earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University in 2020. She is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Mental Health Clinical Counseling at Old Dominion University.
Raven’s professional and education experiences include helping young adults adjust through difficult life transitions (i.e. college, post-graduation, pregnancy). Some of Raven’s counseling techniques include, mindfulness, Solution Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, and holistic care.
Raven brings open-mindness, empathy, and cultural awareness into her counseling sessions in addition to being LBGT affirming. Raven is ecstatic to help her clients discover their potential and to live consciously in their authentic lives.
Emergency/ Crisis Information: Catholic Charities provides an on call service for clients experiencing a mental health emergency after normal business hours. The on call worker does not provide counseling for you over the telephone but rather assists you with life threatening mental health concerns. You can reach the worker by dialing 757-274-4956. If unable to reach out to a call worker, please call 911, 627-LIFE, or 496-3500.
Approach to Counseling Techniques: My therapeutic approach includes several major theories of counseling, including Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I believe that every individual has the potential to work through life problems by practicing conscious living. I seek to help clients learn more about themselves, and empower them with the tools that they have within themselves.
Formal Education: I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and I am currently working on my Masters of Education in Mental Health Clinical Counseling.
Areas of Competence: Counseling techniques, Professional Identity and Ethics, Theories of Counseling, Human Growth and Development, Group Counseling and Techniques, Career Counseling, Multicultural Counseling, Treatment of Addictive Disorders, Abnormal Psychology, and Clinical Assessment and Research.
Supervision: I am currently under supervision of faculty at ODU as well as a licensed mental health professional at my current placement. Upon graduation, I will meet the educational requirements to pursue licensure by the Virginia Board of Counseling. Periodically, I may discuss your case with my supervisor to ensure I am providing the most effective counseling possible.

Robyn Boyce B.S.
Counseling InternRobyn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University in 2021. She is currently working toward her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Old Dominion University. Robyn wants to work with couple but looks forward to working with clients of all ages. Some of Robyn’s counseling techniques include Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Robyn brings genuineness, authenticity, open-mindedness, and empathy into her counseling sessions and hopes to create a safe and comforting space for her clients to feel heard and accepted.

Gerald Ott B.S.
Counseling InternGerald received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Mental health counseling at Regent University in 2021. He is currently at Old Dominion University studying to get his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling while Completing his Practicum and Internship at Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia. Gerald has worked with students aged preschool to high school as well as adults of any age. Due to having a diverse work experience and family life, Gerald is familiar with the problems and issues that commonly present themselves with any age, race, ethnicity, sex, or religion. Before working in counseling Gerald worked in many fields including childcare, manual labor, the food industry, and the church. This has made him very accustomed to people in all steps of life. Gerald firmly believes that is a counselor’s job to meet the client where they’re at to promote growth instead of the client conforming to the counselor’s technique.
